Everyday Artifact
Everyday Artifact is a collaboration of husband and wife team Jeff Ryan and Barbara Edelman. Their history includes over 20 years as art printers, producing short-run, limited editions prints sold in the art world. They started Everyday Artifact in 1998 with the intent to use their expertise as skilled master printers to make objects for sale in the gift industry.
Along the way, they developed a technique to print very detailed images directly onto precious metals, and realized “if we could make them tiny, we could call them jewelry.”
Today, Everyday Artifact uses a proprietary technique to apply images directly onto metal, then coat them with a jewelry resin. The result is a simple work that is rich in detail, using unique photographic expressions to celebrate the meaning, beauty, and culture found in everyday life. These handcrafted pieces pay a formal respect to everyday passages and milestones. The Pendants are solid sterling silver, with the resin coating.
The Everyday Artifact collection is handmade in their 100% solar powered Santa Fe, NM studio with extreme care. The methods and materials used are gentle to the planet, and at the same time, hopefully high impact on the human spirit.
Barbara and Jeff’s goal is to put forward imagery and words that can serve as emotional anchor points. They choose to work in black and white because it is both classic and effectively evokes memories and timelessness. We believe they have achieved their goal.
Whether you are expressing your emotions or capturing memories, these simple necklaces are a sweet gift. Everyday Artifact has combined oxidized sterling silver, resin with heartfelt words, thoughts and emotions to make a one-of-a-kind piece. Shop pieces from from Everyday Artifact's collection here.
